Hi all! I know I've not been consistent with my blogging! I've been really busy with school this semester with all the filming and everything! :) Hope you all will understand! Hello all, A very random and happy picture before I went out,
Many weeks ago

Well, my 3 months of studying, playing and partying in Perth is coming to an end in 8 days. I'm thoroughly excited about going home, to see my family, my friends and consuming my favourite food (shouts: curry puff and soon kuehs!)

I know alot of peeps out there think that studying overseas is a breeze and potentially a waste of money and all that, but to me, it's a long term investment. Qualifications are still a limiting factor in the workforce and my dad agrees with me, it would work for me in the long run. Opportunities are out there, and the degree would give me a better shot when it comes to these opportunities.

I'm really glad I am enjoying the units in my course, because it involves watching so many films and looking at films from a TOTALLY DIFFERENT ANGLE. Omg, one film can depict so much information and analysis evolve from shows like, water running from a tap! It amazing how these philosophers actually draw out such fascinating information out of one show. It can go all the way back to Freud's theory of psychoanalysis and it can even boil down to castration of the men's penis. How can a sci fi film be analyzed to that extent? Well, I've seen it all, I've been enlightened.

And this is how I look like for the past week.

Well, This week has been solely dedicated to finishing up my portfolios, my 3000 word essay, 19 Art movements to talk about, and mugging for the exam, which is coming up on the 4th of November. Just to know more about what lecturer has constantly mentioned about "Fight Club", I decided. tonight after doing my readings, I shall watch "Fight Club".

Definitely my favourite show for now.

Man, it's such an awesome show. if you get a chance to watch it, please do because it is so mind boggling and it makes you think so hard! I love that show. And Brad pitt is freaking hot in that show. Whee.

Friendship Outing
Hahaha, Im still thoroughly amused by the fact that this outing was called friendship outing. Alex was sabotaged to treat Yin Zhi, Weijie and I to dinner and we didn't think he would take it for real, but he really did! We went over to Hog Breath and we had a balling funny time.

Anyway, after that, we were supposed to head on down to a pub to drink cause Yin Zhi swore on her life never to club and WJ just tricked Yin Zhi into going to court, and for poor alex, who doesn't know it was a Homo club, just went int wondering why several guys were staring at him. He actually even got approached by a guy who asked if he was straight or gay! haha.

I know, I'm seriously getting homesick all over again. Somehow, I got all teary when I saw mummy, godma, godpa, Ee-Angie and Grandma and uncle Desmond. They were going to have teh terik.

He went in, and I was about to walk down the elevator..I called Blessann to cry and wail, and suddenly Melvyn called. And the next moment, he was running towards me! Apparently he didn't fill up the form for departure thingy. haha. After that, we had a second goodbye parting thing.. and ... he was gone.DEPRESSING.

The Perth Royal Show!
I kept nagging at Melvyn that I really want to go to the Perth Royal show and finally we did! whee! I was utterly excited and amused! whee. Everyone kept saying that they spent over a hundred odd on the Perth Royal show and guess what, both Melvyn and I add up together, we only spent 88 bucks! hahaha. :) the admission was like 24 bucks each and We made full use of it and spent the entire day from 2-9 over there, walking there, standing in the rain at times, and roaming around. :D hahah. I love being Singaporean! Whee.

The Perth royal show was great, the shows, the dogs (GABBY!), the madness, the sights, the scenes, the peeps, the food, the fireworks, the horses, and the love is everywhere. I only wished I got to sit more rides though 10 bucks for one ride was a bit pricey for me at first, but after I sat one ride, the adrenaline rush was lingering and was pressing me to sit more rides.

Overall, I love the Perth Royal Show!

Did you know that it's the queens' birthday as of 1.36am,29th Sept!? Woah! Hahaha thanks to her, public holiday for all man. Even though I've no school what so ever cause it's study break but hey, Happy birthday Queen! hahaha.

t's her birthday and today for dinner, there was a last piece of chicken left on the dining table, and SOMEONE had to finish it. So we all had to make guesses on how old is the queen. Whoever guesses the further-est away from her actual age, has to eat it. So I guessed 75, Mich says 89, Weijie says 92, Melvyn said 90. Hello all! Ok I've to rush through two presentations this week, so not funny because I've to do alot of readings and research on it. OMG. Panicking on what the lecturer might ask me on the spot. Well, randomly I've been bringing Melvyn around and what not, and oh oh oh! I saw a collie that looks exactly like gabby and I asked the owner if I could take a picture with it!

Anyway, It was mooncake festival like, 2 days ago! OMG. No one celebrates here or what? But ok, actually random chinese do. Just like me. I insisted on celebrating mooncake festival because I was gonna skype with my family back home, Boy, I miss them so much. After walking around north bridge after dinner, Melvyn and I saw random chinese folks with lanterns in boxes I figured I should get hold of one! So i rushed all the way to the nearest oriental shop and when i reached there, it was 8.01pm. And the shoplady was cleaning up already. I was devastated because I saw pretty lanterns in her shop! So I knocked hoping she can tell me the nearest oriental shop that was open. When the uncle came out to talk to me, this is what happened.

Jillian: Hello Uncle! do you know where I can get lanterns!?
Uncle: Here! We have!
Jillian: But...aren't you close?
Uncle: Never mind, for you specially, I'll open it up for you again!
Jillian: YEAHHHHH!!! (grabs spongebob lanterns and winnie the pooh ones)

So happily I ran home to skype with family and I saw Pomelos, Snow skin mooncakes (OMG I WANT THE PANDAN ONE!) and I miss their company so much. I decorated the whole backyard, filled it up with brightly litted lanterns and skyped :)

As much as I'm homesick, and I wanna spend my birthday at home, like I did last year..A big thank you to those who wished me happy birthday, even though I'm miles and kilometers away. Depressing as it is, to celebrate my birthday in a foreign country, it wasn't that bad because Skype made it all better! Here's my first greeting, from the lovely Blessy!

She actually had like, a Tea party so I wont feel so alone and all! She went all the way to Dawn's room to get a webcam, so she could show me her party! hahaha. I was having a horrible headache, and I was bed ridden and couldn't move, especially after

Thursday - Pre Birthday
I went to school with a really bad case of "BAD HAIR DAY" as in seriously. One side of my hair was really flat, and what not, and the other side was really pooofy! I mean come on! and plus, the weather here is so dry, my hair was static-fied?! OMG! I couldn't take it, and wore a beanie to school. My friends couldn't recognise me, also because I'm late and I didnt have time to wear my contacts and makeup. hahaha. But what the hack

For dinner, Mich dragged me out for dinner, because I was resting in bed, and didnt want to move. Apparently they wanted to treat me dinner because it was my birthday, but I didnt know until Mich says order whatever I want, anyway they are paying. I was damn stunned! hahaa. thanks guys! It was morning and I received some horrible news about my friend. I shant' talk about it here, but I really hope he'll be alright :( Anyway, I went over to IKEA with Mich, Annie and Wei Jie, and i must say its very similar to the one in Singapore! and the meatballs back in Singapore is so much nicer! :( And there's no curry puffs here : ( : ( :( boooo! Anyway, I had lots of fun! and I even bought things for myself! hahaha.

At night, I went for OCF (overseas christian fellowship) bible study and it was a good time of sharing and all :) and plus, they sang a birthday song for me! suprisingly they all knew it's my birthday! bust be Janesa! But thanks guys, they eve n got me something amazing. Later read ok! :)

When I was back in Singapore, National day meant that I Would be at home, either having a party, celebrating Sarah's birthday, but I would hardly watch the national parade. However, this year, I'm actually very patriotic and I went to watch the Parade at Murdoch University.

But before that, I met up with Janesa and Audrey and together with annie, we went to sit the Train all the way to the city because, 1: I have never been to the city, 2: I've never taken the train. So I was super excited. I wish mummy was there to share the experience, cause she wanted to go to the city so much!

Mummy has left today, at 3.30pm. It's really hard knowing that mummy is not going to be around me 24-7, and she's so far away right now. I just saw her on web cam, when she was at home and I really feel so lost. From two toothbrushes, to one. From constant hot milo at random times, to nothing. From 2, hogging the lap top, to just me blogging right now. It's a change.

Anyway, We went to Carousel to walk around, because it was late night shopping. So we walked around, and we were craving for pie! :) So Annie suggested Jesters!

Well, today is my first day of school and the ratio of Caucasians to Asians, is really 5:1 man. OMG. I feel so weird! haha. Generally the lecture was fairly interesting, it was a little hard trying to get the accent, but after a while, I got used to it. Screen Text lecture includes like, an hour of film for you to watch and all. So basically this lecture includes free movies! wheee! Which Singaporean doesnt like free stuff now. Hahaha. :)

I think I'm officially blogging for my mummy because she keeps asking me to update so she can show all her friends her life in Australia and how she has been doing. Blessy says she can be so-not-so-lao-zhar-bo.blogspot.com HAHAHAHA. I say, "OMG, so now blogging is like homework la!" she laughed and pestered me to update. Amused over here. My mummy is the cutest.

Anyway, I've been feeling much better, except for my first headache yesterday. Hahaha, Aussie Headache please. Anyway, mummy has been treating this like a holiday and I have been driving her around. haha. :) Yes, its been long since I drove manual but it seems like I still got it man! Haha.

My mummy has been pestering me to blog since I came back. Look who's the secret blogger here. hahaha. I am down with the flu and dry cough kinda thing, because I'm not used to winter. It's hard coping, but thanks to Isaac's Heater, I'm feeling better. :) hahaha. I am really sily, mummy bought flu medication for me, and it's classified under Day and Night. I went to consume the night one and just now, I was really super drowsy. :(

So now that I'm much better after eating mummy's home cooked eggs and chipolatas (mummy calls them CHA-PA-TI *the indian food) I feel much better. So here's the updates she pestered me to post online.

The flight was 5 hours however, it felt like forever. Maybe because I was crying most of the time on the plane. I fell asleep and later during the flight, I woke up crying again. Thank God Muneera came over to say hello! The feeling of seeing someone familiar when you step out into a foreign country, that feeling was awesome. :D Thanks Muneera! It was really comforting.

Well, I bought an Australian line already! However, everyone told me that Vodafone isn't that popular her, so I might be changing my number after my credit is used up.

Hi everyone! Well, I'm going on to Perth in 6 days time and it's really heart wrenching for me to leave Singapore, especially leaving all my love ones behind. It's hard to phantom what life would be in Perth, knowing that the place is relatively quiet and all, but really Thank God that mummy is going down with me to Perth for 2 weeks.

Thanks everyone, for coming down and your presence really brighten my mood. I hope I'm ready for this trip down to Perth and as I am scared as I am, I hope that I'll grow to be a more independent person as time goes by. You all are the reason why I would want to stay. :(

I will be watching this on August 15th, (which is my actual birth date) so that I can feel closer to home :D
